There are several established routes to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, each offering a different experience in terms of scenery, difficulty, and acclimatization.

The Machame Route, often called the “Whiskey Route,” is one of the most popular due to its stunning scenery and good acclimatization profile. It is ideal for adventurous trekkers who don’t mind camping.

The Marangu Route, known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the only route with hut accommodation. It is shorter but has a lower success rate due to faster ascent.

The Lemosho Route is considered one of the best routes for acclimatization and scenic beauty. It approaches the mountain from the west and has a high summit success rate.

The Rongai Route approaches from the north and is quieter, making it a great option during the rainy season.

Choosing the right route depends on your fitness, time available, and personal preference for comfort and scenery.
