Wildebeest Migration

The wildebeest migration is one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth. It involves over a million wildebeest, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, moving in a continuous cycle across the Serengeti plains in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara in Kenya. This movement is driven by the search for fresh grazing and water and happens year after year, following a roughly circular route.

The migration is famous for its dramatic river crossings, particularly of the Mara River. Here, wildebeest face natural dangers such as fast currents, deep water, and lurking crocodiles, making each crossing a tense and breathtaking moment. On land, predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are always nearby, hunting the weaker animals, which adds a raw element of survival drama to the spectacle.
